Special Books by Special Kids shows children with disabilities who have bright personalities and honest wants for relationships and a sense of belonging in friends. This representation applies to the social model of disability, which is a socially constructed idea that people with disabilities are  inherently impaired by society, not necessarily their disability. SBSK breaks barriers that disabled individuals face by giving them a voice and a platform for accurate representation.
